Guernsey FC


LRD builds hero brands. To launch Guernsey FC in 2011 we brought together

key local client businesses and fellow hero brands Sportingbet, Aurigny and

Alliance. This platform delivered not only sponsorship income, but helped create

initiatives that would foster island pride and put ‘bums on seats’ in a football

stadium.

 

In the run up to the opening game we invited the entire community to ‘Paint the

Town Green’ with players in the High Street handing out green balloons, signing

autographs, passing out match day programmes and green ribbons to tie onto

cars in support of ‘our boys’. States members took part in a photoshoot on the

steps of the Royal Court wearing GFC scarves.
 

We designed, produced and sold advertising for the match programme, hosted

events to encourage the business community on board, wrote press releases

and liaised with the media and wrote a series of GFC Christmas carols… and

then we gave birth to a real crowd favourite - Roary the Lion. The rest is history!
