When sponsorship of the Father’s Day Half Marathon became available three years ago, Guernsey Dairy was the perfect fit. And the ‘Milk Run’ is growing year on year.
Fuelled by regular social media updates, relevant articles, videos and interviews with local media, plus all sorts of fun activities around the finish line, it has become an event for the entire family. LRD’s role included managing social media, helping to administer and organise the event and provide public relations. Key to it all is the agency identified that an active media partner in IslandFM would raise the event’s profile considerably. And so it did.
As with all great CSR projects, each participant benefited. Guernsey Athletics has seen an increase in runners in their other yearly events, with a new tranche of younger runners showing a genuine interest in the sport. IslandFM had great live content to help and promote the station. Guernsey Dairy enjoyed excellent exposure and aligned themselves with a positive community event.
Congratulations to all the runners, and their friends and families who supported them, what a great day out. Now a firm fixture in the Guernsey Athletics, Guernsey Dairy and LRD calendar - everyone’s already in training for next year's event. We’ll drink to that... that’s the white stuff.
