The Golden Lion
IT’S been a feature of St Peter Port for more than 150 years, so when White Rock Brewery took over the lease on the Golden Lion pub they wanted us to work with them to bring it to life again.
While initially thinking the pub could be renamed, our team set about looking into its history, speaking to historians, visiting the Priaulx Library and reading numerous books and articles on the building.
Once they discovered the wealth of history and all the events that had happened – dating back at least as far as 1851, it was decided to keep the name as it was. The rebrand came from the White Rock’s expertise in artisan beers and how this would be reflected in adding ‘Beer House’ to the pub name.
‘Hops at Heart’ became key to the project alongside the lion head hand drawn by our creatives and added to all the pub signage, work clothing, beer mats, glasses etc.
In what was a huge project for our client and our team, we were delighted that the pub was open and ready for business just in time for Christmas.
