Builder’s merchant Norman Piette invested heavily in the redesign of its Bulwer Avenue showroom for both trade and retail customers. Communicating this much stronger retail offering was the challenge set LRD who came up with a campaign with a family focus.
The campaign, called ‘Beyond Your Wildest Dreams’, encouraged children to create their own fantasy bedroom. And they certainly gave full vent to their imagination. The themes on the entries were vast and varied, most produced in colourful two dimensions, but the very adventurous crafted their ideas in 3D. The designs were excellent and the winner’s imagination became a reality as his bedroom was transformed with the help of some local tradesmen and suppliers.
Communicated mostly through social media, in store POS and on Island FM, the campaign not only received a huge number of entries from excited children. It also increased footfall in the showroom and greatly boosted Norman Piette’s following on Facebook.
Winner, 11 year-old Joe Williams says: ‘I was so pleased when I heard I had won and I’m really happy with how the room has turned out, especially the football shirts on the wall. That’s my favourite bit!’ Well, of course it’s all about the big idea.
